Chrystale, I'm hearing quite a few reports of that happening this year, and it RARELY happened before. One parent was told that it was a safety issue, that the schools were worried about having a "stranger" on campus.
1. Call another school - public or private school
2. Call another school district's school
3. Go into the school in person and speak to the principal
4. Contact your homeschool organization to pressure the schools into accepting homeschool students.
The PSAT, SAT, and ACT, all encourage schools to include homeschoolers when they test. Hopefully finding a different school will help you! I hope this problem resolves!
Blessings,
Lee
This article is very timely for me, thank you! I have been in the process of actively trying to register my 10th grader to take the PSAT in our disctrict since July. I'm having no luck. After multiple messages left, I went into to the administrative office yesterday. They called the home-based instruction coordinator, who advised me to look at the college board site and contact the high school that my daughter would take it at. I should note, that I've been told that already and have already contacted them. They referred back to the administrative office. I also walked into another high school in my district (based on info that another homeschooling mom had told me, that all homeschoolers in the district take the tests at this school, which is the alternative high school) and was told by this office that, nope, no homeschoolers take the test there and never have. This is a huge school district (Puyallup) and I know that I'm not the only one trying to figure this out...but I can't find anyone who knows how to do it. Do you have any tips? Thank you very much!
