Jill, that sounds like a good idea. I have heard about using the timer method for other tasks but didn't think of it for transcripts. I did finish FAFSA over the weekend, so that is one task off of my to-do list. Yay! Thanks for the suggestion. I will certainly give it a try.
Robin, thanks for your post, too. I really appreciate Lee's posts, on-line videos, and emails. I will have to try to look into the Gold Care Club. It will probably depend on what fits in the budget. But, Lee offers tons of free stuff, too! Again, I am very thankful for the help!!
Elsie, I have used the timer method -- set the timer for 10 minutes or 15 minutes and do as much as I can until the bell rings, and that includes deciding on a list of things that need to be done with the transcript. If you do this every day when you get up -- just like exercising :-) -- it's amazing how much you can do. I actually go back and forth between "blocked" time and "ten minutes", but if you are having problems with "blocked" time, you could certainly try this - can't hurt (you only lose 10 minutes or whatever) and it might help.
I know I need to write my transcripts, but how do i find the time to do it? Between FAFSA forms, tax forms, paper piles, home schooling, and student activities,etc., i don't have enough time during the day. It doesn't help that writing transcripts is about as much fun as having teeth pulled. Any suggestions to find time or to get motivated?

Jill makes a good point. Lee talks a lot about scheduling time for things that are important. Time for morning meetings with children, time for test preparation. You might even find a way to fit it into your daily routine. Once you get going on it, it will get easier. Lee has been a wonderful motivator for many people. Her members know that she takes calls on Wednesdays, and Lee is very good at giving reachable goals. You might find The Gold Care Club helpful. Guess it's time to get off my duff - my 7th grade child and I are probably as fluent in French as a first-year high school student. She can write a decent 5-paragraph essay too, and I know I didn't learn that until high school. In fact, her essays have more style and are way more interesting than mine ever were. OK, OK, OK... I'll start the transcript, I'll start the transcript...
Love the analogy! Sure enough, that Jillian Michaels DVD DOES require A LOT of hard work. And, I didn't even lose 20 lbs. in 30 days. Transcripts require work, too! I've got mine in progress for my 10th grader, but I'm still working on some of the finer points (like course descriptions & the reading list from 7th & 8th grade when she read all the great books).
