Moses said to the LORD, "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue." The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD ? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say." But Moses said,"O Lord, please send someone else to do it."
~ Exodus 4:10-13
I agree that God will equip those he calls. Why do I rarely read about trying to home school special needs children through high school? Lee has said that you don't have to teach, they just need to learn. It's a little harder than that with my son who has Aspergers. I have to learn everything with him to help him. Any advice on that?
Dear Cheryl,
It might be really good to connect with homeschoolers in your area, who are on a similar journey. In her blog post, Special Needs Question about High School Lee says, "There are many homeschoolers who struggle with some subjects – or ALL subjects." She shares some helpful links in the same post, in addition to some really helpful comments by people who read the post.
I hope that helps!
