Top Homeschool Tip for Summer Vacation

Top Homeschool Tip for Summer Vacation

I took my favorite book with me on vacation almost every year - to read while my kids were reading something. Now I have to add my disclaimer, {This post contains affiliate links. If you click and buy I may make a few pennies, but not enough for a latte.}, but seriously, this is my absolute favorite book!

When you are on vacation, consider bringing Managers of Their Homes by Teri Maxwell to the beach with you.

Sometimes I only read the sidebar quotes, other times I'd read the text, but I always got some encouragement that helped me make the next year of homeschooling more tolerable.

Summer is a great time to cuddle up with ANY book, of course. I also spend my summers pre-reading the  readers and literature books we'll use throughout the school year. I always enjoyed that and found it to be so much fun! Especially in the early grades, it was pretty easy reading, so relaxing and enjoyable, and it really helped me to look forward to the coming year.

And in case you need a boost of encouragement with tips on how to finish up the school year quickly... How to Have the Best Homeschool Summer Ever. As always, balance is the key.

Happy summer and happy reading! Let me know what you enjoy reading in the summer!

Learning to write a quick one or two page, hand-written essay is important for three reasons.

Finding a college is like trying to find the "love of your life." When you have narrowed down your selection of colleges to a few candidate schools, it's time for a visit. FAFSA stands for "Free Application for Federal Student Aid." It's a form you fill out, much like the 1040 tax forms. Like the tax forms, these are also super-fun and well-written government prose. The US Department of Education requires the FAFSA to receive any government money for college. They mean "free" because it doesn't cost money to apply for the
