How Fickle Are You?

How Fickle Are You?
I hate reading about the last days of Christ's life on earth.  I always come face-to-face with my own failings- UGH!  This time through, while I was reading in Matthew, I was thinking about how fickle people are.  Myself included.Matthew 26:33-35Peter replied, "Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.""I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times."But Peter declared, "Even...

What About Accelerated Christian Education?

What About Accelerated Christian Education?
What are your thoughts on Accelerated Christian Education for homeschooling the High School years. They keep track of all the credits needed, which seems such a help and the curriculum seems to be comprehensive?~TeresaDear Teresa,I have never used it, so I can't speak to this specific curriculum.  I can suggest three things, though. Maintain your authority over your homeschool.  Especially when a curriculum says it is "accelerated" sometimes the pace will not fit the pace of...

Homeschooling Curriculum - The Latin Road Pays Off!

Homeschooling Curriculum - The Latin Road Pays Off!
>>>Please comment on the Latin Road <<<I used Latin Road for 3 years. My kids were VERY successful with it, and my son still remembers all his Latin even after 3 years without cracking a book! He had to take a college placement test at the college he's going to, so they could see which class would be appropriate for him. He passed all 3 levels of Latin, and started the university in Junior level! Yippee!...

Homeschool College - A Desperate Mom's Plea: How Do I Pay for College?

Homeschool College - A Desperate Mom's Plea: How Do I Pay for College?
I want to tell you that the "desperate mom" feeling is completely normal! This is the absolute WORST time of year for that feeling. Most students have already chosen a college, and have already applied and are eager to leave home. Yet most parents are looking at the sticker price of the college and feel completely overwhelmed because you haven't received any financial aid yet.Almost everyone pays less than sticker price for a college. If your...

Homeschooling Curriculum - Is there such a thing as too much homeschooling?
A homeschool parents asked me how much is TOO much. Here is our email conversation.>>> Here's her schedule, tell me what would you do? At co-op she takes volleyball, speech, creative writing, newsletter, Peacemakers (the teacher is going through the book sort of like a Bible Study). Homeschool Records - How to Determine Homeschool Credits

Homeschool Records - How to Determine Homeschool Credits
This question comes from Jurene in Spokane, who purchased a transcript last year, and now is planning to create a music appreciation course with the Symphony: "Dear Lee,This is where I need your insight. I know we talked much about how much time Ellen spent on different subjects to justify awarding a credit. If you could simply give me a yardstick of sorts. How much time would warrant a credit or a partial credit." Dear Jurene,...
