How to Be a Better Home Educator

How to Be a Better Home Educator

How to Be a Better Home Educator

You can become a better home educator this year and every year and build a better homeschool with tools you have around the house. You may be anxious and searching for something to make you feel secure. But some things really won't help you at all - and sometimes they actually make the situation much worse and increase feelings of incompetence. A degree in teaching will NOT make you a better home educator. Parent Partnerships will NOT make you a better home educator. School at home will NOT make you a better home educator. On the other hand, as you begin to homeschool, you will become more and more confident over time. As you shape and mold your child's behavior, they become more cooperative. And as you learn more about homeschooling, you'll start to get your sea-legs, instead of feeling weak in the knees about the task. Homeschooling WILL make you a better home educator. Continuing education WILL make you a better home educator. Investing in your vocation WILL make you a better home educator. You can become a GREAT home educator! The love you have for your child will ensure success! Learn more about how to become a great homeschooler in this article, How to Be a Better Home Educator.

What WILL Make You a Better Home Educator?

What WILL Make You a Better Home Educator?

What WILL Make You a Better Home Educator?

Sometimes homeschooling high school can feel overwhelming, confusing, frustrating, and panic-inducing.

What is the difference between "pedagogy" and "pet a doggy" anyway? And does it even matter? Well, statistics show that homeschoolers do a better job of educating their children regardless of the parent's educational background. That means knowing words like "pedagogy" isn't going to make your children better.

So, if you are trying to weigh the pros and cons of "pedagogy" and "pet a doggy", I think I'd go with petting the doggy, instead.

If you are stressed, feeling inadequate and incapable, I encourage you to take a deep breath. Your child was made for you. You are capable. You can do this. Do you dot need a degree in teaching. The love you have for your children will ensure success.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” ~ Matthew 11:28-30

Excuse me?  A degree in teaching will NOT make you a better home educator.

My friends who are certified teachers tell me that their teaching degree gave them training in crowd control, educational philosophies, grading criteria, and classroom strategies.

Home education is about parents strongly motivated by the love they have for their children.  No crowd control, educational philosophies, or classroom strategies needed.  If you want to become a better homeschool parent, then love your children more.  Become students of your student.
